Samsung announces Galaxy SIII event will be separate from MWC 2012

Regardless of the fact that the world expected the unavailing of the Samsung’s Galaxy SII’s successor at Mobile World Congress this year, Samsung has sent out a PR statement confirming those rumors to be…not true. Samsung is Samsunging is us all by pulling an Apple on us. In the statement, they claim that they would rather “announce their new device closer to the commercial release date. PR statment after the break!

“Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012. The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.”

CES Day 1: Roundup

The first day of CES started off with a bang! Introducing incredible products that will live in tech history for years to come. Here is a roundup of the best things that we saw yesterday.

Gaming

Razer’s Fiona

This is probably the most unique product we’ve seen so far at CES. Razer’s Project Fiona is the first real gaming tablet. It’s a 10.1 inch screen, with two single handed controllers attached to each side. You hold the device almost like a steering wheel. The tablet runs Windows 8 and plays full on, legit PC games. The games demoed were Assassins Creed, Minecraft and other various PC games. The Fiona also packs an amazing Ivy Bridge i7 processor (!) Razer says that the Fiona will be released for “Under $1000” by the end of the year, Q3 or Q4. After Windows 8 is released!

PS Vita to AT&T
The long awaited Playstation Vita, the quad-core hand held monster is going to be released on AT&T in Febuary for $249.99. AT&T will sell the Vita contract free but allow the user to go on a pay-as-you-go plan, just like what we see on the iPad 3G. The two plans are a 250MB data plan for $14.99 and a 2GB plan for $25. At the end of the keynote, the speaker also said that “It’ll be even better when it gets LTE.” Maybe just a slip, or maybe not.. Hmm..
Mobile
AT&T Lumia 900
The long awaited LTE Windows Phone has arrived, to AT&T that is. The Nokia Lumia 900 is the very first LTE Windows Phone in the world right now. It sports a 1.6GHz single core processor, a 4.3 inch display, and the gorgeous Nokia body we love. AT&T is picking up the LTE train really fast, as it just launched LTE in New York a few weeks ago.
AT&T Galaxy Note
Even though this wasn’t much of a surprise, it was still nice to be confirmed, the AT&T band Galaxy Note is heading over with LTE sometime soon. This massive 5.3 inch screen phone/tablet may not even fit in your pocket, but it’s still a very nice device

BREAKING: LTE Galaxy Nexus Coming to Sprint Update: Pulled!

This ad that just appeared on CNET.com says that the Sprint Galaxy Nexus is going to be the very first LTE phone from Sprint. Ditching WiMax, Sprint announced today that is going to roll out LTE in markets by the middle of the year. Think this ad is legit? Or was it a test ad that just slipped? Head on over to CNET and click on this article, this is where the ad appeared, maybe you’ll see it too! What really makes this interesting is that the ad says that the specs are not a 1.2GHz dual core processor, rather a 1.5GHz dual core processor.

Update: We just went back on CNET and not to our surprise, the ad has been pulled. We’ve reached out to Sprint for comment as well.

Lucky holiday shopper picks up a Verizon Galaxy Nexus at Best Buy

Do you love LTE speeds mixed with the best Android phone to date? Well then the Galaxy Nexus is the phone for you! Verizon, said to be the only carrier in the US to hold the Nexus was supposed to (by rumors) release the phone for 299.99 on a two-year contract on December 8th. Now though since it’s December 11th with no date in site, people are getting angry. Regardless of it not being released yet, that didn’t stop a Kansas man from getting one. The Best Buy didn’t get the memo that they weren’t supposed to sell it and sold it to the man. Since Best Buys already have it…well then…Whats the hold up Verizon?!
